EPIC MOUNTAIN CLIMB CONCLUDES - BATHURST WRAP
Maybe not quite the ultimate finish we wanted but it was certainly cool racing around the mountain to finish off the year.
In the end, after a week of hard racing, we were just lacking a bit of engine power which hurt our result in the final race but overall we can be very proud of efforts and we will be back stronger next year.

MOUNTAINEERING MAYHEM - BAILEY AVOIDS CARNAGE AND SHINES IN 5TH - RACE 1
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has grabbed spots, avoided a mid pack crash and come home in a strong 5th place - from the 30 car field - during Race 1 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.
Yesterday, in Qualifying, Sweeny set a time of 2.40.5 to start the race from 7th on the grid.
Race 2 will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 13.30 AEST - and Race 3 on Sunday at 08.35 - as part of the Repco Supercars Bathurst 1000 event.

BAILEY'S BATHURST - SWEENY QUALIFIES 7th - THOUSANTHS OF A SECOND SPLIT PACK
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has QUALIFIED 7th fastest from 30 cars, for Race 1, on Day 2 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.
Sweeny clocked the 6km circuit in a best time of 2.40.5 which put him 7th fastest and literally just a second off pole, meaning he will start Race 1 from the top of row 4.
Places 5 to 7 were split by thousands of a second.
And only 8 drivers managed to get into the 2.40 times.
Yesterday, in practice, Sweeny set a time of 2.40.4 - one ‘tenth of a second’ different from today - which shows just how consistent he is and how much he is pushing the limits.
Race 1 will be held at 12.00 noon on Friday and is set as a stand alone event for the day, with 2 races then to come - Race 2 on Saturday at 13.30 - and Race 3 on Sunday at 08.35 - as part of the Repco Supercars Bathurst 1000 event.
All races and qualifying will be shown live on TV on Foxtel across the whole weekend.

MOUNTAIN CLIMB BEGINS - SWEENY 6TH FASTEST ON DAY 1 - BATHURST
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has finished Day 1 of practice for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Mount Panorama, Bathurst with a best time of 2.40.4 - a time which put him sixth fastest from the 30 car field - and just a second off fastest overall.
Later in the day, during practice 2 - Sweeny would set a similar time of 2.41.3
Qualifying is set for 14.40 tomorrow as a stand alone event with 3 races then to come.
Race 1 will be held at 12.00 noon on Friday and then Race 2 on Saturday at 13.30 - with Race 3 to come on Sunday at 08.35 - as part of the Repco Supercars Bathurst 1000 event.

WET + WILD - MONSOONAL RAIN SEES COURAGE IN FINAL RACE
Monsoonal rain has seen Races 2 and 3 start behind the safety car and ended with a string of non finishers on Day 3 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park.
In treacherous conditions, All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny moved up 7 spots to finish Race 3 in 16th.
After a massively encouraging run of form, with double podiums and battling seasoned V8 supercar household name drivers, Sweeny can have high hopes going into the Bathurst grand finale.
Earlier in Race 2, sitting in 4th and battling hardened veteran Warren Luff for 3rd, Sweeny lost traction on turn 4, with the spin dropping him down the order on the starting grid for the final race of the day.

SPIRITED DRIVE SEES TOP 4 RESULT IN SYDNEY - RACE 1
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has finished Race 1 in 4th place of the 26 car field, on Day 2 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Sweeny had earlier qualified his Number 33 Toyota in 4th place to start from row 2.
After a massive battle all race, Sweeny finished less than a second behind pro and invited driver - and multiple Bathurst V8 Supercar podium winner - Warren Luff, a vastly more experienced campaigner and a veteran of the Supercars championship.
Races 2 and 3 are to come on Sunday as part of the Repco Supercars Sydney SuperNight championship round.

BACK ON TRACK - SWEENY GOES TOP 4 - LESS THAN A SECOND OFF FASTEST - PRACTICE ON DAY 1
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has gone 4th fastest of the 26 car field, during opening practice, to be less than a second off the quickest time, on Day 1 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Sweeny finished the day at the pointy end despite a red flag cutting the second session short, clocking the Sydney circuit in a time 1:49.7 in the second session.
Qualifying and Race 1 continue on Saturday with Races 2 and 3 to come on Sunday as part of the Repco Supercars Sydney SuperNight championship round.

NO REST AFTER DOUBLE PODIUM - SWEENY TESTS CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING TCR CAR
Fresh off the back of a double podium result at Sydney Motorsport Park on the weekend, there has been no rest for TGRA86 All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy young gun, Bailey Sweeny.
Sweeny has tested one of the latest championship winning TCR Hyundai cars from HMO Motorsport, at Wakefield Park in NSW.
After matching times of current TCR drivers, Bailey said after the test,
‘The cars were so good to drive and it was by far the fastest racecar I've driven”.

BREAKOUT WEEKEND - PODIUMS AND RESULTS SHOWS HARD WORK PAYS OFF
All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny is riding high after a stunning weekend saw him claim 2 podiums in 3 races and be the fastest overall of the field in practice, during the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series round at the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight event.

SWEET SUCCESS - BAILEY CELEBRATES WITH PODIUM IN SYDNEY
All 4 Mechanical, Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has shown his true character by fighting off constant pressure to claim his maiden podium, in Race 1, on Day 2 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Sweeny held on during a race long battle to claim 3rd overall and take out his first set of silverware in the championship.
Race 2 and 3 are scheduled on Sunday as part of the Repco Supercars championship round.
