After being spun around and fighting back for a solid 12th place during a hectic and red flag interrupted Race 1 on Saturday, Sweeny looked like he could've made it six pole winners in six races as he went fastest of all in the first two sectors on Sunday morning, but was pipped at the post by Lochie Dalton.

As race 2 progressed, a race long ‘tooth and nail’ fight with Cam McLeod saw Sweeny handed a 5 second penalty which ultimately saw him home in 6th place.

Minus the penalty, a top 4 result was on the cards in overall race time.

The impressive qualifying and fighting spirit shown all weekend, amongst the toughest of competition, meant Sweeny walked away with a haul of 171 points in the bag - 21 more points than his last round in Tasmania - and an overall result of 7th for the round from the 23 competitors.

As a result of another outstanding performance, he now moves up another three places in the championship from his position after last round, to sit 15th place overall, among the 25 starters, and accumulating a total of 384 points.

Round 4 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series will be held at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 from August 8-10.
